Wellness Workshop & Presentation Requests

Explore the diverse workshops and programming options available for student organizations, university classes, and campus entities. Our health educators and clinicians are dedicated to providing engaging and informative sessions to support the well-being of the UMass Boston community.

Guidelines for Requesting a Workshop

To request a workshop, please submit a UHS Workshop Request Form. 

  • We ask for a minimum of 5 attendees per session.
  • All requests must be made at least 1 week in advance.
  • Choose a session duration of 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes. 
  • Please reserve an appropriate space for your event or coordinate with UHS staff for assistance.
  • While not required, incentives such as food, beverages, or freebies are recommended to encourage attendance.

Helping Students in Distress Training

This 90-minute training equips participants with the tools to recognize and respond to signs of student distress, as well as make appropriate referrals to campus resources. The training can be offered in person or via Zoom and is designed to help faculty and staff feel more confident in supporting student well-being.

Narcan Training

Narcan (Naloxone) is a life-saving medication that can rapidly reverse an opioid overdose. This training is crucial for harm reduction and empowers community members to respond effectively in an emergency. The program would teach participants how to:

  • Recognize the signs of an opioid overdose.
  • Administer naloxone correctly.
  • Understand the "Good Samaritan Law," which protects people who seek help for an overdose.
  • Find and access naloxone in Massachusetts.

sExpress On-the-Go

Want to offer your group a wide range of safer sex supplies? UHS staff bring their expertise in sexual health to answer all questions related to safer sex, STI testing, contraceptive use, lube, and more. We will bring a variety of safer sex supplies for all types of bodies and types of sex, including external condoms, internal condoms, oral dams, and water-based lube.
