Additional Information
Timothy Shaw joined the Department of Conflict Resolution, Human Security, and Global Governance in fall 2012 semester and served as graduate program director of the Global Governance and Human Security foundation PhD program until 2015. He has an extraordinary record, as both a scholar and administrator, most recently as professor and director at the Institute of International Relations at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine in Trinidad and associate research fellow at UNU Comparative Regional Integration Studies in Bruges.
Shaw previously directed the Institute of Commonwealth Studies at the University of London where he remains professor emeritus. He served for five years as external examiner for the University of Nairobi. As of February 1, 2013, he is an assigned professor in the faculty of social science at Aalborg University; and he continues to be visiting professor at Stellenbosch University in Africa. In June of 2014 he received a honorary degree of Doctor of Letters at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. He is also adjunct research professor at Carleton University and Universite d' Ottawa. Shaw is now external examiner for University of Ghana. Shaw is now cosupervising PhDs at University of Nairobi with his first PhD, Dr. Maria Nzomo.
