Sara Boxell Hoang (she/her/hers) is the Director of the University of Massachusetts Boston's federally funded Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI) grant project. UMass Boston received its first AANAPISI grant in 2010, and Sara has been working with the project since 2013. She has a PhD in Higher Education from UMass Boston. Her research focuses on AANAPISI policy, programming, and impact. She also holds an MA in American Studies from UMass Boston and a BA in Comparative American Studies from Oberlin College. Sara was adopted from Pusan, Korea, with her twin sister and grew up in a suburb north of Boston.
