
Mérédith Laferté-Coutu
Biography
Mérédith Laferté-Coutu is currently working on their manuscript The Last Hypocrisy of Liberalism: Levinas and the Problem of Land. Their research interests include phenomenology, ethics, and environmental philosophy. They have published articles on Husserl, Levinas, and topics in contemporary critical phenomenology. They completed a postdoctoral research project on the relationships between Emmanuel Levinas and Edouard Glissant on concepts of return and rootedness, thinking the connections between Jewish, Caribbean, and Indigenous thought on Turtle Island. Their second manuscript, Responsibility and Subjectivity: The Missed Encounter Between Husserl and Levinas is under consideration by Northwestern University Press.
