
Michael Mignanelli
Biography
Michael Mignanelli is an associate lecturer in the Department of Classics and Religious Studies at UMass Boston. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and holds a graduate certificate in language program coordination from the Texas Language Center. His dissertation examined the intimate relationship between fifth-century Athenian law and daily life as reflected by the corpus of Aristophanes.

Among Dr. Mignanelli's other research interests, he is passionate about ancient performance culture, having previously served as the director of UT Ancient Drama and UNH Ancient Drama. Most recently, he directed a performance of Sophocles’ Philoctetes at UMass Boston.
