Dr. Shi’s current research interest focuses on the association between lifestyle factors such as diet and physical activity, and cardiometabolic risk. She is the PI for a randomized controlled trial of soy supplementation during pregnancy to improve lipid and glucose metabolism. She also provides statistical consulting services for the NHLBI and NIA funded projects. Dr Shi’s previous research covered a variety of maternal and child health topics including reduction of maternal and child mortality in developing countries, health service utilization, prevention of suicidal behavior of women of child-bearing age, and child growth and nutrition.
