Economic Security & The Elder Index
In Later Life
The Center for Social and Demographic Research on Aging’s focus on the economic security of older adults is central to current and future projects aimed at addressing the wellbeing of older adults. The Center looks at economic security through research and production of academic and white papers, community projects, and work with the City of Boston's Age Strong Commission. In addition, the center produces and maintains the Elder IndexTM, a one-of-a-kind, county-by-county measure of the income needed by older adults to maintain independence and meet their daily living costs while staying in their own homes.
The Center for Social and Demographic Research on Aging’s continued research on economic security is used by:
Policymakers | Family caregivers | Service providers | Aging advocates | Community leaders | Researchers
