International Relations Minor

Develop Diverse Perspectives & Skills for International Relations.

Through the International Relations Minor at UMass Boston, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the complexities of global affairs. This minor pairs well with majors in Anthropology, Business, Economics, Education, History, International Geography, Languages, Management, and Political Science.

The courses in this program give you a broad understanding of how countries and societies interact globally. The curriculum touches on international political economies, conflict resolution, human rights, global organizations, and more. By taking courses from various academic departments, you’ll gain a well-rounded perspective on international issues and politics.

With the skills you learn in this program, you’ll be prepared to pursue a career in diplomacy, international business, nonprofit organizations, government, and more.

Completion Requirements

Complete 21 credits from seven courses, including one introductory course, five electives, and one senior project.

Pass/fail: No more than one course taken pass/fail may be applied toward the minor. The introductory and senior project courses may not be taken pass/fail.
Residency: At least three courses applied toward the major must be completed at UMass Boston.
